Peter O’Rourke – Co-Director, Designer and Deviser
Peter is a Designer and Director. For the Little Angel Theatre Peter has created five productions with the joint roles of director, designer and puppet maker including ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me’. As designer/puppet maker he worked on many of LATs productions including ‘Macbeth’ (set only), ‘Jabberwocky’ (to be revived as their Christmas show this year) ‘The Mouse Queen’ whose tour included a run at the New Victory Theatre in New York and The Hampstead Theatre, ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ (revived this Autumn) including a season at the RSC. “From Peter O’Rourke’s wonderfully imagined design of faded sunflowers and jumbled-up newspaper headlines (as if a poison-pen letter writer has gone berserk)to its witty ditties and klezmer style score, this is a truly original piece of work…” – The Guardian on The Mouse Queen
Furthermore Peter has made puppets for Spitting Image, Theatre-Rites, Kneehigh, Indefinite-Articles, the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Royal Opera House.
Sarah Wright – Co-Director
Sarah was born and brought up at the Little Angel Theatre, London and has worked extensively within physical and puppetry based theatre ever since! She is currently puppet director and performer in Kneehigh’s new Beggars Opera entitled Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs).

Liz Walker – Puppeteer/Creative Collaborator
Liz Walker was co-founder and artistic director of internationally renowned Faulty Optic (1987 – 2011) ‘Snuffhouse Dustlouse’ (1990), ‘Tunnel Vision’ (1998), ‘Dead Wedding’ (2008). In 2011 she founded Invisible Thread. Liz brings her depth of knowledge, playful brave wit and improvisational skill.
Oliver Smart – Puppeteer/Creative Collaborator
Oliver is a specialist in the design, fabrication and performance of puppets for stage and screen.
He has worked with Disney, The National Theatre, Nickelodeon, ITV, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Theatre Royal Bath, Flying Cloud, LAMA Creative, Finger in the Pie, Turtle Key Arts, Irresistible Films, Blind Summit, Puppetlab, Snuff Puppets, Sixth Sense and Travelling Light.
Oliver is a specialist in advanced puppetry education, he is a lead facilitator for The Little Angel Theatre Education Department and has designed and tutored education programmes at Central School of Speech and Drama, Rose Bruford College of Performing Arts and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Rachel Leonard – Puppeteer/Creative Collaborator
Rachel has been puppeteering for 20 years including many highlights at The Little Angel Theatre. Titles such as: Fantastic Mr Fox, Sleeping Beauty in the Wood, Angelo, The Little Mermaid, The Peach Child, Venus and Adonis (with the RSC), A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings (with Kneehigh).
Rachel was in the original cast of the acclaimed War Horse for The National Theatre which won Best Play at the Tony Awards in 2011.
For KneehighTheatre she is part of the ‘Rambles’ Team- dramatising the stories of Cornish writer, Anna Maria Murphy, in community venues.
And for the Royal Shakespeare Company she assisted with puppetry direction on A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
She was puppetry director on The Ghost Downstairs and The Iron Man, for New Perspectives Theatre and has performed in numerous marionette shows aboard The Puppet Theatre Barge.
In Film – Rachel has performed with animatronic figures in ‘Prometheus’ and ‘The Seed of Chucky’, and recently with some old muppet favourites for ‘Muppets Again’.
Steve Tanner – Photographer
Steve is a photographer based in Cornwall. He has worked for Kneehigh for many years, creating beautiful production shots for their shows.
Lina B. Frank – Producer
Lina works with performance that connects its audience and is highly stimulating for the senses: visually, sonically, geographically or all at once. Lina loves with bold and brave people, explorers and visionaries at heart. Currently she works as Director and Executive Producer of Ausform, Co-Producer of Bristol Circus Festival, Producer of PINCH Theatre, an Associate Producer of Theatre Bristol and Board Member of Circomedia and Sideshow Circus Magazine.
